The concept of The Cycle of Development (commonly known as C.O.D.) was concieved in 2002, from the need to create a tangible, systematic and user friendly development programme to educate and mentor new people in the direct sales industry.
It is a structured, multi-tiered programme that allows a person to think and learn about business in an easy to understand format, at a speed that suits them. It is divided into 10 sections, or stages, beginning with the foundations and gradually building up into more complex and advanced business concepts.
The clear and concise way in which the C.O.D. has been published means that there is no way of being lost or confused in what could have otherwise been a complicated and daunting task of learning a new industry or business model. People know what they are taking on, what they are aiming to achieve and what the journey in order to reach this goal will entail.
As a mentor it allows you to monitor your own progression and your peoples performance closely, to identify strengths, weaknesses and to set standards within your organisation. This clarity of expectations promotes efficiency in the work place and people will feel secure and motivated whilst undertaking the various stages.
The C.O.D. was created using the principles of how a student learns through having a tiered, structured curriculum, so a new sales person can clearly see what they have to learn and show a consistent standard of knowledge in, in order to progress in their sales career. Over the past 11 years, the C.O.D. has seen enormous global growth and now exists in multiple languages, styles and formats, having been adapted to suit the unique requirements of different countries, business models and cultures worldwide.
Similar to the original Cycle of Development, the administration version is also used across the world in the direct sales industry, from Australia to Asia to Europe, and in some countries it is critical to an administrator's qualification for industry recognition.
